    Default Another groin injury

So, the exact same day Maria posted a video on a groin exercise for us...I had a game. In that game I had 8 breakaways. I managed to stop every single one of them but on the last one I overextended my left leg and once again injured my groin.

Now this wouldn't be a problem considering it was about 3 weeks ago, but I have a playoff game coming up next Monday and I stupidly played a game on Friday thinking that my groin was already better because I couldn't feel it. Long story short, my groin wasn't better and I payed for it by allowing 9 goals 5 of which would've been relatively easy saves had I not been injured in a crucial part of my body.

My team has no choice, no other goalie is eligible to play for us in the playoffs and I'm curious as to whether or not there's something I can do to speed the recovery or at least numb the pain so I can play to my level come next Monday. Pain is temporary, taking 1st place is forever!

I tore Up my groin pretty good too. Missed 4 months of Hockey and work as well! My Physio told me about this great compression short called Core shorts! They have now been taken over by Underarmour. There are 3 different shorts: Lite, Pro, and Rehab. After my Injury I got the Pro level shorts. They basically keep everything nice and tight, they have medical grade elastic in an X to keep the hip and groin wear it needs to be. I have never had a groin strain wearing these gifts from the heavens!
Underarmour is now in control of these shorts so look on there web site. I have passed the word to several friends with groin problems and they all love these shorts. Mine cost about $100. Best money I ever spent. Here is the link:

yep I second the core shorts, I bought a pair for when i had some hip issues and they helped with that also. The pro ones work well the lites are really light so dont get those but never seen the rehab ones before.

That. Is. Awesome. I need to get those shorts. I've only been in net like 4 times and I've already hurt my groin. But maybe I'm just not flexible enough yet...

If it's still bothering you, ICE! Anytime you somewhat feel it, ice it. Other then that, don't do any activities or motions that seem to irritate it!

Coretection no longer makes these shorts. Under Armour bought them. These are now available through UA.
