Default Stupidest way to render yourself inactive?

Yesterday, I was walking out into my garage, I overstepped and with my shoes being a little wet on the bottom, my legs went out from under me and I landed on the steps, right bum cheek and right forearm first. OUCH! My bum is kinda sore, but I can easily walk - it wouldn't stop me from playing. But my arm, it has swollen up, though not really bruised. I have discomfort when straightening my fingers or making a fist. So, holding a stick is not happening.

So I got to thinking, has anyone got a story where something innocent or klutzy has rendered you unable to play?

I'd get that checked out. When I broke my arm it didn't bruise, either.. just swelled up and I wasn't able to make a fist. I'd get that checked ASAP just in case.

The dumbest way I've ever injured myself was by -- get this -- standing up from sitting at my desk. I stood up, felt unbelievable knee pain, and had to sit back down. Couldn't straighten out my leg for anything. And of course it happened like a week before my National Championship Tournament. It eventually got a bit better and I played on it, but it was just ridiculous that I got injured just standing up from a sitting position. Didn't hit or knock it on anything at all.

With some icing and Advil the swelling is pretty much gone and I can make a fist now without discomfort. My arm just feels "tight" now. I can rotate my wrist all around, and I can hold things with my right hand like cups and cans. I'm pretty certain it's not broken, it's all been muscular pain.

A few years ago I was carrying my bag upstairs from down in the basement, I lost my footing on a step and fell forward onto my bag and hit my mask, which is up on top of my bag and chipped a tooth. Fell down the stairs and my bag fell on top of me. $100 dollars down to get fixed at dentist cause I couldn't stand the pain, on top of that no hockey =(.

In rush to get son off to school, slammed fingers in car door!@@!@ Proud that I didn't teach him any "new words". Oh well at least I smashed my blocker hand. Have to see tonight if I can handle it. May have to drain the blood pooling under nails.

Never drain the pooling blood. All you'll do is introduce another way for bacteria and dirt to get in the wound.

By simply standing there. *bangs head on desk*

I was at a party Saturday night with my boyfriend and I was standing there and turned to him to say something and out of nowhere the nerve damage from my stroke decided to fire in my right leg. It was the worst nerve spasm I've ever had. Ever. My leg gave out and I somehow twisted it (probably because I was wearing 5in. heels...) which has resulted in a knee sprain.

Not sure how long I'll be out...I guess until I can bend it and move without wanting to scream. I was supposed to run a half-marathon in a couple of weeks too...don't think that will happen now either.
