    Default Joint Question

Hey guys, I haven't been playing a lot lately but some games when I go down into my butterfly, I feel a pull or a light weird pain in the joint between my right leg and my hip bone (I think that's a ball and socket joint or something like that). It doesn't really hurt but it is tough to explain the feeling. This makes my butterfly much more narrow than it usually is, but it isn't like this every time I'm on the ice. I don't think its rust or conditioning because I have been playing soccer and going to the gym regularly. Has anyone felt this before or have an explanation? Thanks in advance

I think you are experiencing the same thing that someone else here had. There's a stretch that may help. I don't remember where that thread is.
You also may have FAI. I think I may have that. I've been doing heavy squats since 1989. I think I've reshaped the ball so that causes a mild wince in some positions. Just getting up from sitting or moving my legs while lying down. It's weird.

Going to the gym and playing sports regularly is no guarantee you haven't trained yourself into a (now) symptomatic muscle imbalance. Easiest and cheapest course of action right now is to try out various stretches to see if anything helps (stretching your inner thigh, quads, and hip flexors) and also doing some VERY light weight shoulder blade stability exercises. If those don't help, see if anyone in Riverside is a corrective exercise specialist from NASM or an Egoscue trained posture therapist.

Well its not so bad that I would have to see a therapist. It doesn't hurt it just bothers me when I play.
