Compression shorts do help - I had a sports doc give me some after a bad strain when I was 16. Even more important for prevention are strength & flexibility drills. Yoga is highly recommended for goalies.

The ones i got are a medium. I should wear a large with my fat ass but they didnt have any. Took a chance on them and i think it worked out well as they are extra tight compressing the groin a little more. Ill get another pair of mediums when these are done!
I bought a pair of core shorts a couple seasons ago to nurse a groin pull. They helped immensely. I was able to complete the season without healing properly (yes, I know that was stupid). They are awesome!

First time pulling a groin I did not really do anything and wound up with an abdominal muscle tear trying to compensate for the groin. After months of rest and rehab I had another relapse of the same. Not as bad so I babied it, did physical therapy and began wearing compression shorts and one of these....Cramer Groin & Hip SPICA Wrap add overdrive blades and I have not had a problem since.
Normal compression shorts have little benefit. I wear a pair of the UA coreshorts Pro, they are thicker than the regular coreshorts, and significantly thicker than compression shorts.
yep go for the Pro one not the lighter ones and UA also now has a pro core full leggings which the tension area is longer in the leg to help with the quads ect..
I bought a pair and going to try them out at tomorrow nights game. If they work well I wont have to wear the shorts and the UA leggings over them anymore and just have to wear the one piece.
I have been wearing the coreshorts for just over a year and ive never had a groin pull in them, when i think back i have no idea how i use to play in jeans
