Custom orthotics, not only in your skates but in your regular shoes as well?
Most extended benefit plans will pay for them if you have one. Probably looking aroud $200 if not.

Thanks to my time in the ARMY I have severely flat feet due to fallen arches. During games and practice the pain in my feet is crazy and lasts a day or so afterwards. I wear RBK 5K skates and I tossed some Dr. Scholls arch supports. This worked for a bit, but now its not cutting it. Any body else have this and figured out a decent solution?

I think i have the same issue... insanely painful cramping almost feeling in the arches of my feet. I also have very flat feet. I just try to ignore it - mine goes away after about an 30 minutes or so, at least the main pain, but the throb stays for about a day afterwards.
Haven't found any non custom insoles that work for me... there are a couple more I might try... my issue wiht the custom ones is that my skates don't fit as well when I have them in... they don't have much give at the top of my foot for the reduced room in the skate with the orthodic. Might try again sometime though, now that I have benefits again.
I only ever got sore feet like that in brand new skates, every time I get new skates it happens. But it's gone away. Are you guys sure your skates fit properly? Like not just what you thought was the right fit, but fit by a trained store guy?
I know I had a problem with severely sore feet when I first started playing, even with broken in skates. Once I started getting to a point where I was at least playing on a semi-regular basis, the pain gradually went away, and now is non-existant.

Buying some gel insoles made a really big difference for me. That may be worth checking out before investing in some custom orthotics.
My skates fit great and the pain used to go away after 15 minutes or so, but its gotten to the point now where I'm playing whole games and going through 3 hrs of practice with my feet killing me. What gel inserts did you buy for your skates?
It could be the skates themselves. I had this issue with my RBK 9Ks. Similar issues with my feet after 10yrs in the Corps. I found the problem went away when I switched to the Bauer one80s.

I had a pair of Bauer Supremes a few years back before I got my 5Ks and I hated themm they were horribly uncomfortable, so I swore off Bauer skates. I think I'm going to try some gel inserts before I go buying new skates.
The point is though if you have fallen arches that affect every joint above including your back & neck. I got mine years ago because i live with chronic neck pain. You may not have a problem like that now, but in the future you might. Someone told me years abo the there are 2 things in life worth spending money on. Your bed and your shoes. You spnd the most time in both so they should be comfortable and not cause you pain.
