Never lost in a shootout but I stress to much

It seems like every year I get to play in a shootout. I've been in at least 20 and only tied 2 and never lost 1. But when I hear I'm going to have to do a shootout I tense up. If you saw my Shock Doctor Tournament videos you'll see that I don't look nervous but I really am. I think to much like what am I going to do, what if she fakes right but goes left. Things like that and it really bothers me because sometimes I even find myself looking like an idiot trying to stop a puck. There's even times that I will come out but when I go to skate backwards I get off balance and fall. I don't get why I stress out so much and over think it. I'm not afraid to face a break away or even a 3 on 0 but I'm scared to be in a shootout, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Well you definitely have more time to overthink it when its a formal shootout. A 3-0 or breakaway happens on the fly so you are pretty much acting instinctively when that happens.

next time you have a shootout... keep in mind that the shooter standing at center ice has just as much pressure on him as you do!

Maybe it would help if you know what goes through the shooters mind: "What can I possibly do to score?"
Shooters are just as nervous as you, and the more time they get to overthink about it, the worse they will be.
What I find is that the good players will try to deke you out, whereas the bad players will try to shoot. in theory, it should be the opposite, because your chances of scoring on a breakaway are significantly higher if you just shoot, especially if you can draw the goalie out of position early, and cut across the high or mid slot. But that's not the case. The good players think they're too good to just shoot away a chance, adn the bad players feel they're not good enough to deke you out. This is what I have found anyways.
