Missing: The rest of my team

My team was suppose to have a league game this afternoon. I arrived very early as I usually do, and started putting on my gear 20 minutes before our start time. Some of the other team arrived, while no one else from my team arrived yet. Not a big deal I thought, they've shown up like 5-10 minutes or so before game time, and I thought this would be the same. Imagine my surprise when the league organizer stopped in to inform me that my team called to forfeit the match. Boo. But whatever, instead I just played a couple of scrimmages with the other team, who were a great bunch of guys and a lot of fun to play with. Also, there was drop-in hockey right after, so I got more playtime, so my trip to the arena wasn't a complete bust. Also, I was playing fantastic all day, which felt great after the terrible games earlier this week. Gotta find that silver lining eh? :)

    When I got placed onto this team, I did offer to give them my contact info, but they said not to worry about it. But yeah, I'll probably stick it out until the end of this season (which is until around December), and look for another team or league for the January season.

    You should pull the same stunt on them, but make it a prank.

    Get dressed in another room, collude with the league manager to pop in just before game time and tell them you called and said you couldn't make it. It's up to you how long to wait after that 'oh sh**' feeling sinks in for them, before you let them off the hook.
