I've been keeping quiet for a majority of the season about the progress of the Boston Grizzlies. I didn't want to jinx our climb from the bottom...

We worked our way up from next to last place early in the season with a win streak of 8 games, right in the middle of a no-loss streak 13 games long, for a total of 28pts overall. We went into double elimination playoff feeling good, but lost our first game. We won our second game with come from behind (4-1 at the end of the second) ...

The Boston Grizzlies lost last night to the Ducks. On paper, the teams should have been a pretty decent matchup. I was looking forward to playing a close, fast-paced game. Instead, half my roster called out, and we skated with only 8 against the Ducks' full 15.
Conservative hockey eventually gave way to tired hockey. Neutral zone turnovers and trouble breaking out lead to me vs. the world.
Final score was 6-2. The other goalie wasn't that impressive, but we were shooting from ...

The Captain of the Grizzlies and the team manager have contacted me again to tell me they have decided to move the team up into the next division, allowing me a spot. And, they're going to subsidize my league fee! Pretty sweet. They have to get a consensus from the other players, but it looks like it's a go. We'll see...

I'm a bit bummed today, to say the least.
I played some drop-in a while back, and ran a shutout. One of the guys playing is on a team with Hockey North America (the Grizzlies). He informed me that their usual goalie was probably going to be out this season, and asked if I was interested. I looked into the league, and I was impressed. Especially with their full goalie stat recording. I spent the next few weeks corresponding between him and the team captain. They are both really nice ...

Last evening's 7-3 win moved us from our new ranking of 3rd place last week to 2nd place.
All of our guys played very well. Shots were hard and frequent down at the other end, and I didn't see nearly as many as I've been seeing in the past. Two of the three goals against were completely my fault. Soft 5-hole goals which should have been easy to stop.

Overall, we all played a great game, and I'm happy to see it all starting to come together.
