  1. Exciting News in the Short Term

    by , 04-28-2013 at 02:39 PM
This past week I was very excited to read in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sport Physical Therapy an article written about FAIS (the reason for my blog) and the rehabilitation progression for Goalies. The good news for me is that according to the article by Dr. Philippon's group (the surgeon who pioneered the techniques and is still obviously researching and perfecting them) I am right on track. I have contacted Dr. Philippon to see if it is ok for me to post the progression or to see if there is ...
  2. The Perils of Hockey and Goal Tending (attempted revenge from me)

Here a team mate gets her ankle broken. She is veteran player from UNH and one of me dear friends. Unfortunetly it's the captain of the event that she collided with.

There should be footage coming up from my team mate's GoPro cam of me getting axed in the head while down to stop the puck. And my confrontation with the piece of **** ref.

I took it upon myself to take the bastard out, but one of my teenie D men (woman)m got in the ...
  3. The Road to Recovery

Surgery #1 is in the books. I had the decompression of my Right Hip on March 13 at Tripler Army Medical Center.
My Pre- Operative Arthrogram showed more damage than was seen on any previous studies. What is worse, the CAM lesion on my left side is actually worse than the Right.

Because of the extensive damage to my right hip the Surgeon had to perform a partial disarticulation (he poped my hip joint out of the socket) in order to get at the whole area. This is instead of the arthroscopic ...

    by , 04-04-2013 at 01:10 PM
The “Art of Goaltending” involves finite skills that must be attended to so that aspiring elite-level goaltenders possess the skill sets to compete successfully in hockey’s elite-levels. Goaltending skills such as: stopping a puck shot around the boards; making a breakaway save; reading a 2-on-1 effectively; shooting a puck accurately to the far blue line; using the sideways shuffle to follow a shooter carrying the puck across the slot; recovering perfectly after a great save to make a follow-up ...
  5. EFFECTIVE GOALIE TRAINING: THANKS TO CAREER GOALTENDER COACH VIC LeMIRE!

    by , 03-28-2013 at 10:28 AM
The “Game of Hockey” has always been a “huge” part of my life! One of my favorite past times continues to be watching a “great” hockey game at any level. As long as it’s competitive, I can sit, watch and cheer as two teams battle each other for the “win!”

Throughout the years, hockey has provided me with an abundance of enjoyable experiences as a competitor, coach, scout, mentor, etc. In fact, from the time I first put on a pair of skates back in the late-1970s, I have been so ...
