  1. Missing: The rest of my team

    by , 10-29-2011 at 11:09 PM
My team was suppose to have a league game this afternoon. I arrived very early as I usually do, and started putting on my gear 20 minutes before our start time. Some of the other team arrived, while no one else from my team arrived yet. Not a big deal I thought, they've shown up like 5-10 minutes or so before game time, and I thought this would be the same. Imagine my surprise when the league organizer stopped in to inform me that my team called to forfeit the match. Boo. But whatever, instead I ...

  2. Major Slump

    by , 10-26-2011 at 01:04 AM
I've had the worst hockey yesterday and tonight in my ball hockey league. To start things off, yesterday we were short on players for the first 7 minutes, so we only had 4 guys out vs. the other team which had two full lines. 4 goals got through during that time, and I think that put me on tilt for the remainder of the game (and possibly the next game). We lost that game with a score of 9 to 4.

I tried to put that out of my mind for tonight's game, but I got lit up bad. Final score ...

    Hello Everyone!

We've been busy with hockey these past few days. Yesterday my boy Ricky got his first shutout as a Pee Wee Goaltender. The final score was 13-0. You can follow his stats on Pointstreak. He's R Foster http://www.pointstreak.com/players/p...&seasonid=7959

Since we've dominated in all of our games so far, the ice arena staff are concidering moving some players around. I'm o.k. with it. It's kinda funny because ...

  4. Do a Barrel Roll!

I signed up for some 1-on-1 goalie coaching a couple of weeks ago. Right now, I paid for 5 session at 30 minutes each, just to get a feel for it. Previously I've only played on ice once, and it was hilariously bad as I slipped and flopped around the crease :). Since then I've been going to open skates at a nearby arena to get a feel for skating normally. Last week was the first coaching session. Nothing too difficult...we worked on some basic ice movements such as going from post to the top of the ...

  5. Hello goalies and supporters!

    by , 10-20-2011 at 08:12 AM
    Hello Everyone!
As a goalie mom and coach, I am constantly on the look out for the most up-to-date information on all things goalie. The Goalie Crease Network has saved me lots of time searching for answers. I have decided to join this forum and blog about my son's development as a goaltender. He is currently playing as a Pee Wee for our local Youth League at Canlan Ice Sports in Fort Wayne, IN. I am one of his coaches.

That's all I have time for today.
