But the overall design remains the same. With so many options and features on these pads it's hard to pin point what makes them so good. The binding-less design is amazing, you look at these and compare them to more contemporary pads and you wonder just ...

If you're a hybrid goalie in another brand of pad and are considering looking at something new; or if you're just starting out and don't know where to start. Try taking a look at the Reebok Larceny series at your local retailer. This is definitely a pad you want to try on, and get to know in store. Even though they've been around for many years, they're finally venturing out as their own brand and there's plenty of talk online about it. Don Simmons has given us the new 996 Professional Goal Pads for review, after taking a look at the pad out of the box, I was impressed. Noticed some of the subtle changes and upgrades from the 995, which really improve the design from last year.

I took the time out on the ice to really get to know the pad and I was impressed overall.

    Features

I really enjoy the lightness of the pad, the strapping system took a little playing with to get just right. Sliding toe bridge is a nice standard, and I really liked the Double Break.

    Construction
    8/10

Very well constructed design, quality stitching, ...
