The Real Official Gear Sightings 2010-2011

So in my quest to find the new NHL masks for this season, I found this about Niklas Bakstrom's. I don't remember seeing this posted here before, but if it has been and I missed it, feel free to delete. It seems he had a contest for kids to submit designs for his new mask. And the winner was a 15-yr-old named Peter Best of Plymouth, MN. "The mask shows the skylines of St. Paul on one side, and Minneapolis on the other, covered by the Wild's crest at the top. Wolves adorn each side, and the back features the Finnish flag, as well as the Wild's 10th anniversary mark."

I didn't find any great photos yet...these seem to be from the day it was unveiled. I'm assuming the kid with Niklas is young Mr. Best. What a thrill for him!

Also found Josh Harding's new mask on the Wild's website. Hope he's well soon so he can put it to good use. Not that I care who is the goalie in Minnesota, necessarily, but I hate to see him injured. It was stated that it "pays homage to past Wild masks."

Mathiew Garon Columbus Blue Jackets Anniversary Mask (not sure if this is just a "special" one and he'll have another to wear also...maybe someone here will know.) Anyway, it's to commemorate Columbus's 10th season.

Ok, found officially on Dallas's website that Kari Lehtonen's mask this year is the Chuck Norris one that I was getting ready to ask about, so I don't need to ask.

Thanks for the update. I thought it was weird that he would have completely different gear already. I still like the pads, for what it's worth.

that chuck norris mask is priceless, i love that. He is already going to be a fan favorite just for that mask

Alex Auld in Montreal has a pretty cool tribute mask this season. He has the 3 Canadiens' goalies who have had their numbers retired (Plante, Dryden and Roy.) I couldn't find any photos, but I took some screenshots from a video where he was showing it off. So this is as good as I can do for now.
