    This is a great tip. I had the lacing slide under my wheel last week and the double knot should solve that problem!

    Do be aware that this toe tie method is typically for ice hockey. For roller you'll wanna check out my Roller Toe Tie Method thread. I'm not sure the double knot would work for roller due to the fact that the knot may touch the front wheel and slow it down or even make it stick in place.

    Same with me... I've always tied mine this way. Although, I cheat when I go to put my pads on, and I'll loop the toe string through my skates, and tie it roughly in place with a slip knot. That way, I can put my skates on, and not have to fight with the string through the skates -- I just break up the knot, and tie it to the top of my skate, and it's done.

    Yep you're right. I had to untie all of my double knots since they were right up against my front wheel...
