Hi,
i finally managed to spare some money for a new gear. I got a chance to get order to Poland fromGoalieMonkey , but I got very small experience in gear. Could You please give some advices on what to choose?
Generally speaking, I got about 600$ and I'd like to buy pads, blocker and a trapper.
I consider myself a hybrid goalie, however still I make great majority of saves using butterfly. I was never trained, and I'm still to be formed with proper technique.
I'm definitely not tall (5'7''), so I base on reaction quite a lot. I used only one pads before (old style KOHO) so I cant even tell whether I prefer stiff ones (but i think, I'd like something rather flexible ones).
I hope those informations will be helpful for any potential advisor :)
The sets I'm considering are:
Bauer Vapor X:55 (don't know whether to take soft flex or medium)
Bauer Vapor X:55 'Medium Flex' Sr. Goalie Leg Pads
Bauer RX6
Bauer Re-Flex RX6 Monkey Special Edition Sr. Goalie Equipment Combo
Vaughn Epic 8600
Vaughn Epic 8600 Sr. Equipment Combo
Warrior Swagger (people on internet say, pads are close to pro)
Warrior Swagger Sr. Goalie Equipment Combo
Maybe You got some other proposals?
Thak You in advance

Thank You ItechWarrior.
After considering that, most probably i'll get bauer rx6 set since goalimonkey doesn't have good sizes for me anymore.
Anyone else would like to give something for me to think about in this topic?
Yes, I'm aware of this. Still, my money is my limitation.
I hope the pads will last slightly longer than You may think, beceause i'm not gonna be facing many slapshots, since they're forbidden in amateur leagues in my country (although sometimes during practice I encourage my players to try).
Out of all those choices definitely the x:55, very nice pads.
get the P3's from RBK :D
I recently tried a set of Brian's entry level G Series pas and I hated them. They are cheaply made in a number of areas.
Its not just slap shots that will break the pad down, this is one area for sure, but its the quaility of stitching, the straps, how the pads bend and move with you.
For me if money is limited like it was with me in the begining (before I found what a line of credit was for haha) I searched for used pads. There are plenty of good used pads out there that will cost you around the same as what you are going to pay for a brand new set of cheap pads, which you will learn to hate for many reasons......
or I could be wrong and you could love the pads and they work for you
its a tough call
