This is a discussion on Bauer 9600 Goalie Mask within the Equipment Chat forums, part of the The Gear category; I was just about to jump on the AutoLinks by http://www.autolinker.com ', BGCOLOR, '#DDDDDD', BORDERCOLOR, '#3399CC', BORDERWIDTH, '1', WIDTH, '-500', ...
I was just about to jump on theGoalieMonkey deal for this mask, and I was wondering if anyone had anything to say on it. Differences between the 960 and sort of stuff like that, so thanks for the help.

GM told me that the 9600 weighs just a little more than the 960, because it has more foam inside of it and therefore should be more protective.
9600 is a slightly older model as well, as far as my memory serves. But it's been touted as a quality mask for some time, so if the price is right I wouldn't worry about pulling the trigger.
It has triangular vents instead of round ones on the 960. I believe you may be able to find the 960 for around $500 these days.

I really like my 9600. I know recent 9600/960 masks made by bauer haven't been as high quality as they used to, but still an okay mask.
the Bauer mask look an awful lot like the Itech masks, are they both built from a simlar cast?
The 9600 is for the larger head. The protection is the same than the 960.
The 9600/9601 is for a larger head, I have one and its the best mask I have owned. I saw the deal on GM and was tempted to get another one.
