Anyone else use stick wax on their tape for their blades (this would be for ice only)? I like to use so I don't get a build up of snow or water on the blade during a game. When I played with a wood stick, I would put one strip along the bottom of the blade to save the wear and tear on the heal and bottom of the stick.

I use wax on my player stick (where I also do an ice tape job). Like you said, it keeps the snow off the blade. I don't really have that problem in goal, though, so I don't use wax for it.

Or from hitting it off the crossbar...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who uses the Blade Tape... (why they clal it 'tape' i don't know... )

I've had alot of issues with regular tape - getting cuts and holes etc. and I hate the effort/time it takes to do a good tape job. I'm a lazy mofo, so this blade tape works nice... if I get a cut, It still sticks down pretty well, and can be easily repaired. I use solid black on my black stick - and I dont' see any damage along the bottom of my stick.

I found also that the tape on my blade actually hid damage... I'd get some cracks on the blade, but wouldn't notice until i had to retape (or took a shot at the right point). Sometimes i'd feel the vibration wrong if there was a crack hidden by the tape, and not really notice any issues...with the Blade Tape, if there is damage, i can see it right away.
