    Default pad sliding surface

I feel like my pads don't slide as well as I want them to. I'm using Vaughn senior level gear that has some stitching and jenpro flaps on the sliding surface, whereas all the new pads I see have a clean surface.

I can't afford new pads now. I'm wondering if anybody has done any mods to their sliding surface to remove friction (i.e. some kind of tape to cover the stitching, putting a new solid piece of jenpro over it... etc). I've tried the scotchguard stuff but it doesn't really make much of a difference.

    Any ideas are appreciated!

I think you have the same pads as my old ones. V2 7000's with 3 breaks in the material on the sliding surface.... Control Stabilizer as they call it....

I was wondering what to do there also, 1 suggestion is take them to someone who can work with leather, (luggage, shoe, fetish what ever works lol) and have them sew either a new panel, or a patch to cover the existing area.

I tried vinyl, and was thinking duct tape, but wasn't really recommended so I just left them as was as I knew I would be getting a new pair eventually.

Sorry cant be of more help here, hopefully others have some better ideas.

Snow seal. Lots of people disagree but i can tell you from experience that it makes a big difference in the way you slide. I just rub a tiny amount on before every game.
Just do some practice slides in warmup to take a little off or you will slide from your post to the corner!

Not exactly. This is the best picture of them that I have:

I will have to give the sno-seal a try. As I said I tried the scotchguard stuff but didn't notice much difference (not like how people talk about the difference sno-seal makes).
