I took my stick out of my car this morning, and it still had a bit of the burning smell.....must have singed the paint.

Early morning pratices were the best for the fart shield. I swear they would linger for the entire practice. I got a bit of a reputation in Minor Hockey. My coaches would always have their chats at the other end of rink. Lol.

I actually had that last night. My guess is that a peice of your stick chipped or something. I broke a player stick and while shooting in my basement I could smell the graphite. That or we took too many biscuits to the head

Nice! I use it as a forward too. Gets the goalie thinking about where that awful smell came from instead of concentrating on the puck. :)

    Two theories.
    1) I was playing street hockey with my ice hockey goalie stick (I don't use it anyway) and my brother took a shot that was really hard, but we play with plastic pucks, you see, and it hit my helmet and something smelled like it was burning.
    2) I broke a wood hockey stick and where I was playing started smelling weird...
For you detail freaks my stick is a Washington Capitals Semyon Varlamov Warrior Swagger stick, I got it at the Capitals practice rink when they sold all their old equipment after the season.

I've smelled seared paint a few times after shots glanced off my helmet. Direct hits don't do it, just the grazing shots. At first I wondered if it was the result of too many pucks to the head. Glad to see I'm not the only one!
