Smell after stick save?
I've got a Reebok 8K (miller pattern, not that it matters) stick. While taking shots at goalie school yesterday morning, I made a save going down in the butterfly, and the puck went off my stick (I believe off the tape along the blade) which then ricocheted into my mask. Right away, I smelled a burning type smell. I'm assuming it was the puck hitting just right and lightly burning the tape or paint. Anyone ever get that?

After seeing only the name of the thread, I thought this was some sort of save celebration at first. Kind of like Ovechkin warming his hands over his stick after scoring, you smell your stick after a save, "Smells like a fine blend of your failure and my awesomeness!".
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Love it! Maybe I'll try that tomorrow morning.....there is one guy who "sheaths his sword" after scoring, so if I make a stick save I'll bring it up and take a big whiff. :DOriginally Posted by rfleming

That's so weird I had the same thing happen and drop in this morning.
Aren't random smells of burning the sign of a stroke? Just sayin'...
The only thing i smell in the crease is my farts. I like to stink up the crease to keep people out!
YEAH!!!
Farting in the crease is the only way to go.
I also liked to skate out to the top of the circles and leave a "cloud" and then skate back.
