    Default Goal pant recommendation?

I think I'm now in the process of looking for a new pair of goalie pants, and I'm looking to see what people's recommendations are. I'm currently in a pair of Itech RX9 Pro pants, and while I like them, they're starting to wear out, so I'm starting to explore my options.

For what it's worth, I'm in a pair of XXL pants, and the looser the fit, the better. I've heard that some pants do fit quite a bit looser than others, and this will be a factor for me.

I'm going to take my pants down to a local shop tonight to see if they can repair the issues that I've seen popping up, and see if it's worth to repair them, or just look for a new pair altogether.

    IMHO, pants are pants.

Figured I'll post an update. I'm still open to suggestions, but the quote on fixing up my pants was only $30. It'll make them hold up for now, but I will need some new ones probably in the next year or so.

Interesting question. I kind of assumed Edmonton, a Canadian city, would have a number of hockey stores where you could check out a couple of pants.

    I'm thinking Warrior pants myself.

Finding pants to look at isn't an issue... Was just seeing if anyone had any suggestions is all.

I was looking at Warrior as well. After I dropped off mine for repair, I went up to the goalie section and went browsing. The Warrior ones looked great. Didn't stick around long enough to try them on or anything, but they looked very well built, and looked like they've got a bit less bulk than what I've got now. Whether that's the case or not, I'm not sure, but I was certainly impressed by what I saw.

If you want loose-fitting pants, Reeboks are your best bet. Ever since the Koho 590 pants they've been incredibly loose fitting, and can be adjusted since there's an inner belt that tightens independently from the outside. Bauer pants also tend to be loose fitting.

In comparison, in my experience Vaughn and Warrior pants tend to be very tight fitting.

    I haven't tried Brian's or Sher-wood pants.

I went with custom pants as i wanted a loose fit but that meant getting a pant whose leg was too long for me and would interfere with my pads. I had a pant made by Simmons, the 995, with a larger waist but a med size in the leg length and they work great and did not cost me any extra cash.
