Amy truth to the rumor that bauer wants to reduce the custom options and if you want to go custom it will have a big price tag?
They look SNAWESOME. I want
As some of you have said, this is based off of the Itech XR10 pad system. They realized that the blocks running vertical on the pads, didn't do enough to fully change the feel of the breaks. It was a good start, but not well thought out. After Bauer acquired Itech they wanted to revamp the lines and allow goalies to adjust their flex instantly. This will eliminate the need for custom ordering breaks, since they will all be internal, and it will allow the greatest freedom to the user. Honestly, this is an INCREDIBLY smart move by Bauer, and this will really make customers happy. Now to save money to get them....

Like Itech, I haven't heard that either. I'm sure that Bauer will see a reduction in mod requests for the pad, but you'll still see a bunch of goalies customize the colors and there is no extra charge for this.
On another note, Synesthete mentioned a good point a page back. These MyFlex pads come with a pair of "medium" flex (yellow) sticks and a pair of "hard" flex (black) sticks. These sticks can also be purchased separately. Once your pads start to get more flexible after some use, you can always insert some new flex sticks to bring your old flex back. This should help prolong the life of the pad. Pretty cool idea.

The Myflex in the pads reduces the need to go custom for anything but colour because the stock colours are only all white, white/red and white/navy. With the ability of changing the stiffness of the pads and where the breaks are, makes no need for a custom pad because you can change every aspect of the pad itelf except for the cosmetics. I'm guessing the pro pads (totalone) will be around $1500-1600 area because they will be made by JRZ in canada however the cheaper outsourced model the one90 will be offered with the myflex as well which is what i am waiting for!
