So I took a 60mph slapshot off of my shoulder floater on my chest protector and it hurt. Should I be getting stingers from 60mph slapshots?

What C/A do you have?
Well it depends a lot on the chest protector. Lower quality units you will feel more through, however i had a Bauer pro and i was constantly getting bruises on my shoulders and forearms. I have a Passau now and have only had one since. So i think the answer is yes. Every once in a while with even the best chesty you will have that happen.

That doesnt look very protective. Im not sure what level you play but you will get lots of stingers through that. Probably should be top of your list of items to upgrade.

Is this a joke? That is a terrible chest protector. You probably get hurt with good snap shots and wrist shots.
A goalie I was talking to yesterday has a pro-spec chest protector and he still bets bruises on his shoulders.
No chesty is bulletproof it just hurts much much much less with a pro one, but that Sherwood u got tere should berelegated to your street hockey stash of equipment

I remember your situation and if this is all you can do for now to do what you love dont sweat it. I started out with terrible gear and just upgraded as soon as i could afford and justify it. But dont get me wrong save up your pennies and get a better one as soon as you can.
