Hah, i'm no car guy, but the that analogy was perfect to help me decide. A "new old stock" 95 corvette for same price as a 2010 kia rio would be an easier decision then whether or not i should keep breathing. Thanks for clearing that up for me guys (and gals)...should be picking them up friday.

Feel kind of stupid but i'm actually a little nervous about getting out there and playing. Never played ice goalie and I havent skated on ice in about 15 years...Though I have skated inline pretty regularly since then.

Safe to say i'll probably fall on my face a couple times.

How different is it skating in goalie skates?
    &
Whats a good middle of the road spec to sharpen them to? I want something middle so after some uses i'll know if I want more or less bite.

One thing that will help you, goalie skates are VERY similar to roller in my opinion. Flat bottom.

I got the pro tacks today. Only problem is I failed to ask what spec they were slappin on the blades. I said i've never played and he told me he'd put something middle of the road but not too much bite on them, so i can slide side to side.

Only bad thing now is that I noticed perani's is having one of its "goalie" sales end of this month. Wonder if I should sell (for around 100-150) my itech profile 2500 mask on ebay and add a little to it at the end of this month to get a better mask.

I know the mask can handle beginner stick-n-puck as well as drop ins, but I also know its the weakest link of my set and I already plan to replace it before I get serious and into leagues regularly.

You don't need photobucket, you can upload directly to the website. Use the add a picture thing.

ahh, fixed anyway. I think i'll stick with the itech profile 2500 for the stick'n'puck and drop ins. Once I get ready to join a league i'll pluck a better mask from store/net. After reviewing some posts about old perani's goalie sales, the prices arent rock bottom gotta have it anyway. $270 for a reebok 7k doesnt sound bad, but I can get that all day long. Maybe i'll just aim for the $300-400 mark and see what the best mask I can afford is when I get there.

so sad...just got them 8 hours ago and i'm dying to put them on and mess with them and put full gear on. I'd guess you really dont have to wait the full 24hrs, but I've waited this long, whats a little more.

Where at? ive seen some used on ebay for under 200, but online and in stores 260-280 seems the norm. I'll scan ebay for new 7Ks, not sure what possible duty fee's will be if its from outside the US.

Wow, those skates are nice. Too bad they belong to a sieve.

    Ha ha. Just kidding.

Ebay is where i saw them, new for around or under 200. I dont think there actually is a duty fee but im not sure. shipping is usually a bit higher but alot of Ebay stores have free shipping.
