    Default Brians DX2

I have a great possible deal on a pair of Brians DX2 pads does anyone have them and if so how would you rate them. From what I have seen holding and looking at the pad they look and feel great. They seem to have a ton of protection. But I have worn them yet so I wanted to get some feedback to see if anyone has a set and if so how do you like them?

I used a set of Dx5s once and I was pretty pleased with them considering they're a low-end pad. Can't really speak to durability but honestly, the pad I see most often still being used years down the road is Brian's. I'd imagine the newer gear like the Dx2 and Zero G are no exceptions to durability.

Brians are very popular here where I live because of the relation of where they were made so a lot of goalies here use them. I've never used them myself, but I have checked them out while chatting with other goalies and they seem to be very good pads. The guys that use them and love are the same as the Vaughn guys...if they like them, they are not switching....ever!!!

I say buy them up...never pass up a possible great deal!!!

And think about the great deal aspect, if they're not what you want, you might make money reselling them! Can't beat that.

I believe the DX2s were Brian's top of the line pads a few years ago. But like every different manufacturer, they have their own idiosyncrasies. If you need new pads and they're a good deal go for it.

    Or how about this:

If you don't buy them, I will :D

    haha...

Dx2s were Brian's top end model 3 years ago I believe. They're still produced I think and they were worn by several NHL goalies including Chris Flopsgood. Ty Conklin also wore them.

Thanks to all you guys yea I can get them for like $500 bucks and they are brand new the Pro shop has had them for awhile and they want to move them. They look awsome plus they are bigger then the ones I have now. When I go down to butterfly I always have a hole between my pads this will fix that I am sure.

bigger pads are not always the answer for five hole coverage, you should really do an ATK measurment to make sure they're the right size. thats just me talking as i bought a set of 38" Prodigys once thinking they would fix all my problems......they didnt! lol
I play hockey because I love the game. I am a goalie because i have all the mental deficiencies that the position requires!

Pads that don't fit properly cause two main problems:

    A) Your pads are too small and you can't seal your 5-hole and thus become Evgeni Nabakov, Martin Brodeur or the worst butterfly goalie ever.
    B) Your pads are too big and you've not got an excessive amount of pad blocking your free movement and thus just become the worst goalie period.

well thanks again guys yea these pads I am getting are only 2" bigger then the ones I have now. so thats not much but it is enough to close off the 5 hole. As I wacth the NHL playoffs that is really key is keeping those pads together when you go down. And with the pads I have now I can do it somewhat but it really hurts my knees because I aover extending.
