    Default Sherwood RM19 Comp Stick

Hey there guys, I got an absolutely great deal yesterday on these sticks!!! These had a retail of 269.99 CDN and now because of Sherwood going back to the their full name on their equipment Peranis was able to score a bunch of these at better pricing. I picked up 2 yesterday for 199.99 plus tax for both. They are selling them at 139.99 ea or 2 for 199.99. Kind of a no brainer if ya ask me...seeing as how they were 269.99 for one and now you can get 2 for 199.99.

I've been a fan of the RM9 for the past year and half, so making this switch wouldn't seem like a big deal....ya right!!! I've been missing out big time!!! These RM19's are 100x's better. Lighter and stronger...amazing sticks for the money!

Hey EVL, obviously you have Perani's there which is the store I fell in love with living in Toledo OH when the closest thing to a hockey store we had maybe on a good day had 5 pairs of skates and 2 sticks...but do you have a Hockey Experts competing there?

Not that I've seen Arth. We have a Sportchek and a National Sports. After that we only have a few smaller specialty shops.

I hate composite sticks. I've had them break from hard shots, and really what is the point of paying all that money for a composite. When a wood/foam core works just as well, and lasts a lot longer. The weight differences isn't an argument because it's so minimal. Not many NHL goalies use composite sticks, so doesn't that tell you something?

I hear ya bro...it took me awhile to switch over and now that I have...I'm not going back!!! Besides, they really are not too bad for expense now especially if you are using high level foam core sticks. The Warrior Swagger is the same price as the X50 or even these RM19s that I just bought. I like the weight difference between the 2 as well (I can tell a difference right away). As for the pros not using them...I have no idea why they wouldn't use them myself. I know my shooting has got a lot better with the comp stick. I've only had one comp stick break from a shot...my X50 just bit the dust this past weekend from a slapshot to the paddle, but I've had blades from wood/foam core sticks break in warm-ups as well.

just wanna 2nd the bash on composites. some people like them i guess. and they work for some, but i have managed to crack 2 7k composites both worth 120$ in a period of 3 mnths. one cracked first use 2 shots in warm up. got that warranteed from rbk and just cracked the other one the other night. its past the warranty period now and it wouldnt be worth it to repair. needless to say i wont be buying composite in the near future. maybe not even rbk. might need to try another brand but right now doesnt seem worth it.

A lot of NHL goalies use Reebok pads, but I sure as **** will never buy them.

Composites are less reliable than wood core sticks which is why goalies who rely heavily on their sticks for a lot of things will use something that's highly reliable like a foam core or wood stick. Personally, I prefer composite, the weight difference is very noticeable and seeing as a Reebok 6k costs around $90 CDN and a Reebok 7k costs $110 CDN, I'll pay the extra 20 for a lighter more flexible stick.

My first 7k broke about 2 weeks into using it when a slap shot hit it mid shaft snapping it in two internally. I didn't notice the damage until I went to poke check. My second one is still rotting in my home town and my third one has lasted 3 months now. My Warrior Fortress lasted 5 months and on average a 6k foam core will last me about 6 months of play depending on what caliber of shooters I'm facing. Are they more likely to break? Of course, they're nowhere near as durable. However it's a personal preference. How many NHL shooters are still using wood sticks that lasted maybe 5x longer than composite? 1? Maybe 2? There are of course different reasons, but personally I like composites far more than wood/foam core sticks.

EVL, SportChek is owned by the people who own Hockey Experts so I'm sure you'll get one eventually.

Hey I don't just disagree to disagree, I'm just very opinionated.

Hockey Experts as they are right now are horrid. I'd shop at Toys'R'Us before I'd go there. But I'm hoping to fix that. I work for The Forzani Group and right now they basically have me overhauling Hockey Experts and SportChek to compete with stores like The Hockey Shop and Perani's.
