Interesting concept, interested to see how they turn out as a regular pad.

sounds like a good theory!! not sure if it can be captured in a fully functional final product.

Great concept in theory, but I think it'll fail in translation to equipment. He's shooting at a very rigid surface set up on a "jig" which is made to be the optimal setting. Looking at the goalie in the video, you can see the pads which are supposed to be square to the ice, tilting forward. Even with the best equipment, there's bound to be user errors that will nullify the effect of these pads. In my opinion everyone but the pros would have a hard time keeping these at the optimal angle to force the puck where it's intended by design alone. Also what happens when you make that jig into something with padding and leather? Will it react vastly different then?

What happens if the goalie makes a save at a weird angle and the puck deflects off the pad and into the net? Like Arth said though, I can't really see anybody but the pros being able to master working with these pads. And I don't think it would have the same effect at elevating the puck once you add in the actual padding as opposed to wood and plastic...
Some people just deserve a high five... to the face.

It really is an interesting concepts but like many others here, I'll wait to see how the final product really works.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

Interesting concept...I'd like to see how a puck actually responds off them instead of a hard wood jig.

Steve's latest post on the pads :

"I have come to an agreement with a manufacturer with my so-called working title of "tilt - fly pads".These pads will not be deployed hastily. They will be released on a timeline that allows proper attention to all facets of design, functionality and performance. They are coming....."
