This is a discussion on My Warrior Messiah Pads within the Equipment Reviews forums, part of the The Gear category; I ordered the AutoLinks by http://www.autolinker.com ', BGCOLOR, '#DDDDDD', BORDERCOLOR, '#3399CC', BORDERWIDTH, '1', WIDTH, '-500', TITLE, 'Warrior Hockey', SHADOW, '1',FOLLOWMOUSE, ...
I ordered theWarrior Messiah leg pads fromGoalieMonkey . It took a week to ship from California to Connecticut. My pads are 35+3 in the USA colors. I'll post photos in the near future.
These pads are amazing. They're stiff and hard. Rebounds bounce off them with a loud sound. They come with a legal knee pad attached to the leather above the knee cradle. 4 Velcro straps. One for the knee pad. One around the knee cradle. Two wrapping around the leg channel. I was used to one strap in the middle of the leg channel. Now one strap is high and one lis low giving more stability and a tighter closure. There are six straps on the outside of the pad. One leather strap in the boot to go around your skate. Three leather straps in the leg channel. 2 Nylon straps with plastic buckles around the knee cradle and thigh rise. I like to be able to set the straps to a specific length and just buckle them in every time.
The toe bridge is offset to the inside of the pad closer to the other pad. I'm used to the toe bridge being exacly in the middle. I like this new feature a lot. I guessWarrior had a lot of input from Pro Goalies and they have a few unique features that I'm not accustomed with. One new feature that I love is the thinner outer rolls. This gives the pad face more surface area and less area for the vertical outer roll. The pads weight 6 pounds even at the full 38 eight inch limit. It weighs a pound more than the Brian's Zero G's. It's exactly the same weight as my 34+3 Eagle Sentry 3's. I have 35+1 Itech X-Factor 11.8's and the knee is higher on theWarrior 's. Every brand has there own sizing and Warrior seems to have a smaller thigh rise.
The leg channel is very comfortable with excellent comfortable padding. The knee area is not that comfortable and is missing soft cushioning padding. When I go down in the butterfly these pads close the 5 hole extremely well. There's 2 breaks one below the kneee and one ablove the kneee. They are stiff, but do bend nicely. The boot is very square. More like my Eagle's. The Vaughn and Brian's pads don't have a square boot so you can have your feet apart wider and drop into the butterfly. I don't have a wide open stance I'm more like Nabokov and I like to stay standing if they shoot high. These pads create a perfect seal along the ice from the boot to the end of the thigh rise.
They're very well made in Warrior's Canadian Factory. For a new company I was impressed and honestly surprised by many new features to the goalie pad market. I'll post photo's when I get my father's camera. I can only imagine that the sky's the limit when Pete Smith helps this refreshingly new company to our goalie world.

I love these pads!
Thanks for sharing.
I played my best with these pads yesterday. I have been tweaking all of the settings and finally found the perfect combination. I wanted the pads to rotate well with ample knee and thigh protection. I also wanted the thigh rise to be flat on the ice sealing the 5-Hole. I tried everything With the straps and something wasn't right. The toe ties were loose the straps were perfect I couldn't figure it out until this week. The culprit was the 2 VELCRO straps around my calf and the VELCRO strap around my thigh. I just thought abou loosening those straps as well as the 7 leather and nylon straps. After adjusting the VELCRO now my pads rotate cleaner and the thigh rise isn't lifted off the ice at all. I was getting frustrated with rotation and thigh rise lifting. Now I'm so happy my pads. Not only did I WIN yesterday no one scored on me in a 20 minute warm-up. A shutout in a wide open slapshot, breakaway, 2 man breakaway anything they want with no defense warm up!
Better late then never.
Got pics with pads strapped on?
