So I finally got my new (ish) gear and decided to put forward my opinions on what I believe is probably the best decision I ever made (apart from deciding on being a goalie , getting married and having kids ) . Sorry for the poor quality of pictures and size my camera isnt the best.
The Pads
Brians DX3 34+1 Single Break
Having never had these sort of pads before I really was not sure what to expect when they finally arrived. So I did what pretty much everyone does and that was to put them on .. Wow what a difference compaired to my old pads .. and there is a lot more straps to do as well... hmm
The strapping system is definatly a lot better then my last set , there is a total of 7 straps on each of these pads , 1 boot , 3 calf , 1 velco strap for your knee , another 1 for your knee block , 1 on the thigh guards and of course the last one hanging off the top of the pads which wraps around your thigh. only the top two are clip buckled and the rest are good old fashioned metal buckles which works well for me.
You can't really see it here but the leg channel is quite nice and a little deep but not too much , very comfortable to wear and no problems with anything moving.
The landing area
To start off with my old set never had anything like this so this is probably the biggest area that I love , yes I am aware that the graphics are stiched on and some people hate that due to the fact it could hinder movement but to be honest I'm an inline goalie so sliding is extremly hard for me anyway . Definatly makes a difference to have this sort of landing area as now I can B-Fly with no ill effects to my knees ( apart from the fact I am still learning to B-Fly correctly ) , Nice solid square block definatly helps me be more aggressive now.
These pads do not have that nice S - Curve everyone wants but thats because I am not sure how to weigh them down to get it :) . Apart from that all I have done is taken out the laced in thigh protector due to it catching underneith my pants ( probably a pant problem as they are a touch too big ) but the 5 hole closure is amazing so im not sure i really need them anyway .
The Blocker
Brians Razor Limited Edition
This thing is amazing .. When I first put it on I was blown away how light it was. The palm felt comfortable and there is just padding everywhere. This is also the first blocker I have owned that has the beveled paddle own style and that has made a huge improvement to my game . There is a nice curve without being too aggressive .

Graphics are stiched on rather the printed on .. Looks great .
Huge cuff on this , I hate wearing blockers that dont give you movement in your wrist
The Glove
Brians Razor Limited Edition
This thing is huge... Seriously .. compaired to my old gear this is like carrying a frisbee in my hand .. I still need to break this one in properly but dahm.... just the overall style has definatly made me a huge believer of brians gear . The glove is still nice and light to move quickly.
I'm not 100% sure what sort of pocket this is ( T , double T , Y , normal ) but so far have never had a pop out which is a major improvment .
Multiple adjustment straps throughout the entire glove. once its adjusted it feels like a second skin .. Also allows the entire glove to be opened out when drying .. another wonderful idea .
Was a little worried when I saw the pad to this glove but I have to say it suprised me. Have taken many a hard shot and have barely felt anything. Pad is small and doesnt get in the way but thick enough to protect my wrist...
All in all I am extremly happy with this purchase and would now be happy to go play ice with some decent gear . Next on my to buy list is a decent Chest/Arms and Pants . Also looking at purchasing a new mask sometime in the near future but still undecided what one I want .
Sorry if I have bored anyone with my first ever review but feel free to ask any questions and critisise if you need :)

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
The trapper has what is called a double-T or split-T.
For your S-Curve:
You can force your S-Curve without weighing your pads down by tying your toe ties around them. String one end behind the pad, and the other in front. Squish your pads down in the desired degree of S-Curve, and tie the laces to hold the shape. I do this on all of my pads when I first get them. The little "divot" on the top of the thigh rise that develops from the pressure of the lace will pop back out over time, or you can fold some cardboard, and lay it under the lace to spread out the pressure.
You may have to store them like this regularly for the first few weeks of doing this. Eventually, they will "remember" the curve, and you can maintain the bend by storing them upside down (feet up). The weight of the pad will cause the pad to curve on its own once one is developed.
Hope this helps!

SWEET gear Bro!
Very nice pads and welcome to the Brians family
another way to get the s-curve, is to take one of the top straps (the long nylon ones with the clips) and wrap it through one of the lower leather straps. Same as above, squish the pad into the shape you want, make sure the tension of the strap is holding it in place and you're good to go. I've been doing this with my vaughns and it helps a lot, and isn't having any adverse effect on my straps.
I love the D series graphics
