Reebok. It was pro only until a couple years ago when they released some pants that had them attached like Luongo and Giguere wore. But now they're illegal in the NHL.

So I got to use them last night and WOO HOO! Best part is I can use my knee lock again, ensuring my knee stays on the landing when I butterfly. In the warm ups I could feel it slip off a bit, but it always went back into good position, and during the evaluations I never had one bit of a problem. Stopped every shot of the night, too. LOVE the pants.. I extended them down the 1" with the zippers around the waist just to get that extra protection down in my five hole. Worked beautifully.

An update about the pants: I still love them, but they're already starting to break down after a mere, what, five months? And I noticed it about a month ago, so really four months. Some of the seams around the stretchy part in the groin have come completely out. Really it doesn't affect the function of the pants, as this is some sort of weird overlap area, but it's still not what I expected from these pants and I'm wondering if other seams are due to come out, too. Granted, I can have it easily fixed, but it's the point, you know? Stay tuned.

The XL 11K weighs exactly 5.5 lbs which is heavy. When I asked my local shop for lighter pants they showed me 5 pairs weighing between 3 and 3.9 lbs. I went with the Sherman-Wood T90 at 3.1 lbs XL. The Warrior Messiah were 3.9. The 11 K have excellent protection, but for weight and mobility I'll pass.

I think you'll find that the level of protection relatively corresponds to the added weight. I wouldn't even remotely consider the T90 or the Messiah pants (despite the Messiah's price) on the same level as the 11ks. I've seen and tried them on and don't feel the protection is comparable in the least.

Coming from the world of heavy pants, I don't get a good gut feeling when I pat down a light-weight pair of pants (player or goalie). That's your hips and thighs on the chopping block.

    Pete,

Any update on the Luongo knees? I might be picking up a set and I just wanna get some more info on them. What were you coming from before? What size are the pants? Do you tuck in the chest? I'd be switching from XL 9K pants, to large prospec pants with the attached knees. I'm hoping it'll be an easy transition.

Highly recommend them. You wont be disappointed there very protectful. Only issue I had was that dumb internal belt.

Have these same pants! They were great but after 6 months of use the foams are starting to brake down and every now and again I get bruises
    Josh Harding is DIRTY!
