lacing is very easy and if I recall correctly, took me around 30 min or so to do the glove.

I actually saw someone with that setup at the rink the other day. Going to have to see what my on-ice schedule looks like and see if that's something I'll have time to do. Only hesitation I have is yanking out the lacing on my brand new glove, but from what others have said in various other threads on here, once the pattern is down, the re-lacing is a breeze.

Just thought I'd post an update about the glove and the pop out issues I'd been having. I played a game on Friday night, and according to the timekeeper, faced 57 shots - many of which ended up being glove stops. I didn't really notice any pop outs in this particular game, so whether they were just different shots that I was facing, or if I'm making the adjustment to the new glove, at least for now, this seems to be resolved. I still may end up doing the skate lace, but I'm not feeling overly rushed to get to it now.

I would strongly suggest a skate lace pocket, it is the first thIng I do with a new glove. I have never had a pop out with a skate lace pocket. It is a simple job and take 30min. Or less.
you win or lose by the way you choose
If you go double T and skate lace on the 996, you wont even feel the puck when you catch it... many times i would have to check my glove after making a catch to be sure it was there
I forgot to add IMO it also makes your glove much better looking !

I had another game with it last night, and I think that the pocket has now developed the give that a nicely broken in glove seems to have when the puck hits the pocket. I had a few that were popping out before that we're just swallowed up by the glove. I guess the real test will be next weekend - have 3 games in a 4 day span, with varying skill levels of opposition players, so that should give me an idea of where it all stands.

I've never used Simmons 99- series but I loved the UL6's. Got a set last year and I loved them. So comfortable and never gave me any trouble. Great pads for an even better price.
Hey guys I need some advice here. My next glove is either going to be a Simmon's 997 or a Brian's Subzero. Are there any opinions you guys could give to sway me either way? Thank you very much :)
6 of one, half a dozen of the other. both are amazing pieces of gear .. Simmons has it in the price factor but Brians is just so super light
