Default Reebok Larceny Pro Glove and Blocker - Full Review

I recently purchased the Reebok Larceny Blocker and Glove after many hours of research on this forum and others. I also discussed blockers and gloves with a few local store reps and got their input. Many factors came into play and to be honest price wasn't an issue as I look at this purchase as an investment and when I invest as long as the price isn't stupid crazy.

    Factors that concerned me:

    1. Quality of the product (9.5/10)
    2. Overall Feel (10/10)
    3. Protection (9.5/10)
    4. Look and style (9/10)
    5. Size and weight (9/10)

Below are a few pictures to start this off:

    The Catcher:

After trying on Vaughn, Warrior, Brians, and other Catches I found the Larceny catcher fit my hand the best. The various materials used and how my hand fit into the individual finger slots, the glove fit my hand perfectly. There are various straps inside the glove to tighten up various points on the hand as seen below:

You can customize the feel to have a very tight grasp or have a little bit looser feel but the glove is very snug with the straps loose.

This glove has got to be the most comfortable glove that I tried on with the Nubuck and various other materials used to construct this glove.

The Finger Protection on the out side of the glove is one of the best for current goalie gloves:

The outside of the glove has been really beefed up.

The palm of the glove is very thick with HD Foam and offers great protection from slap shots like the one Chara has:

Out of the box this glove closes very easily and exactly how I want it to:

The Webbing is deep and absorbs pucks and they don't kickout:

Overall this glove provides a lot of protection and is by far the most comfortable glove I have tried on. I could have gotten the L9 for $285 less but the protection is a lot less and the materials arent built to last more then a couple of seasons if you play regularly. Also, Nothing is painted on or is synthetic, everything is genuine leather and stitched over to offer a cool, 3d look. If you trying to find a glove that you can feel protected wearing, is light on the hand, feels amazing and overall looks great then take a long hard look at this catcher.

    The Blocker:

This Blocker has to be the most protective blocker I tried on. The finger protection is second to none and if your a poke check goalie you'll understand how important that is. The thumb protection is second to none with three layers of protection, it may be a bit of an over kill but i'll take it all day long.

The palm on this blocker has a double palm and offers a lot of feel and a great grip and should be able to get a few seasons of steady play without having to repalm.

This blocker comes with 2 straps but to be honest I don't need them and wont really tighten them:

The inside of this blocker is just as comfortable as the catch with the same materials:

Finally, I too my shark steamer to the palm of this glove to work it in and get it a little bit looser.

I am playing shinny tomorrow and have a game Thursday night so i will give you a recap after those two days and let you know my thoughts based on the ice performance. Any questions please feel free to pm or ask away.

Amazingly beautiful! love the colors, wish I could afford the higher levels, I get the investment stuff and all the goodness, I just literally don't have enough money. Still, I love my L7's can't wait to hear how they play for you. Good Luck!

Nobody understands the position who hasn't played it. Hockey is a team game, but for a goalie, it's more like an individual sport. - John Garrett

I want to clarify, I mean no disrespect nor do I look down upon anyone who cant afford what every it is you wish for, The reebok L&, L9 and Larceny line is a fantastic line and the L7 and L9 levels offer great value for what you get. Also if your at an age level or a playing level where you may not need a pro series glove the L7 or L9 will be just fine!

O no disrespect taken, just stating. I know that they are good, just wondering how it compares. Congrats on the new gear!
