Finally got them-in and have been on them twice.Like anything,it took about half an hour to get the feel
and how they differ from my old blades.Keep in mind Im an old dog trying to learn new trick's(technic's,i.e.butterfly shuffle's)
I understand the principal, but Im having a little diffitulty with the ACTUAL process. So to help,I bought these.
100% has widend my stance, even thought I have to keep reminding myself I can.Great pushes when I needed to get across
the crease. The product allow's you to take a very aggressive WIDE stance If you chose,with-out the typical "slip-out"that you would encounter
with regular or ground down blades(sharpening).
I'll will keep updating my review's as I get to use them more, but so far,I like them.

I did the switch last week, and I will never return to my CCM blades !
The hight of the blades and the 3degree angle helps a lot on my knee push.
I used to sharpen my CCM blades every other games, now it's been 6 games with the Xblades and they still cut like day 1!
They aren't cheap, but they really worth the price!
Have u ever tried Step Steel there a little cheaper and look like the same use as the X Blades?
Josh Harding is DIRTY!
whats difference in price and compents between Step Steel and X-Blades?
how do they differ?
does one offer more than the other?
The ONLY thing better than tea with Miss McGill
Well guy's,thought I would up-date ya-ll on the "Blades".Now that I've had them for a couple of month's they are
still working as advertised.Like I stated before,Im getting great pushes and I still have NOT sharpened them yet.
Im averaging playing 3 time's a week and coupled with my new(to me)Smith 6000(and matching blocker/catcher)
have elevated my game and found renewed confidence.Still working on the slides/shuffle concept when I can,but
it's a slow process(I thinking maybe weekend goalie school to focuss)
But for this generation that has grown-up with this style(Hiller/Niemi/Varlamov/Ect....)Im suprised more of you
don't go to this set-up.With these blades Im farely convinced you would'nt need overdrives(I considered them at
one point, but settled on the X-blades Im part for the theory on that site(Overdrive Site).
Keep In mind Im half-a-century old.So if it can help me be competative at my age, imagine how it could help you're
game!(P.S.-I think Mike Smith of the Phx might were them as well).
I am really thinking about trying these. I have a question though. I usually get my skates sharpened at 1/2. Would I have to get them sharpened at a different measure since the steel is a little better or still 1/2? Thank you in advance :)
As per their website :
SHARPENING RADIUS*
Regular blades – 4 mm X-BLADES - 4mm 3/8 in 5/8 in 1/2 in 3/4 in 5/8 in 1 in
I get my xblades sharpened at 1/2 and it's perfect for me. They came at 3/4.
At this point it's a personal choice...
