Started with a Medium/Light sanding block just to take off the previous clear coat.

then wiped down the surface with a damp cloth to remove all dust etc.

Using Spray Enamel (or similar) applying good coats to cover up original graphic. (I used 1.5 cans)

After you have your desired base coat ( For this part I have designed and cut my decal using a vinyl cutter)

I then taped it placed and applied the vinyl to the stick.

After removing the masking tape and applying vinyl on both sides i was left with this

Last stage was to apply a few coats of clear to the stick to seal the paint and vinyl layer. (PlastiKote Premium Enamel is what I used)

Have you done this before? What is the durability like? How much weight does it add to the stick?

It looks awesome Scottish - nice job!

First time, I am going to say (without an accurate way of measuring) that it doesnt feel any different. I have just finished the stick this morning so yet to use it on ice, but will let you know how long it lasts.

good work Scottish, be curious as to how long the enamel lasts and what paint/enamal brand did you use? Are you able to do up some vinyl decals at cost for those of us in your area wanting to do something simular?

That's a good idea for repairing sticks that are structurally sound but have many, many paint chips in them. :)

Indeed it is. Same princaple as my steps above prob just have to add a step of filler to any deep chips in the stick
