    Wink Made the team

So after following some advice that I got here a while back, I have been putting my daughter into Goalie training. One per month as I don't want to burn her out. She is doing soooo good there. She learns things very easily and doesnt forget to the next lesson. She is learning butterfly slides right now, and getting very good at them. Next lesson is stick work.
Anyways....she has been asking for more time in the crease, so I did some searching to see what I could find for a 6 year old tender in Calgary. Turns out there were a couple of options. The one I followed up on first worked out. She had a scout come and look at her at a training session. Right there he invited her to play goal on his AAA Spring team.
She was thrilled!!! So was I as a matter of fact.

I may bump up the frequency of training too since she wants more.

    Obligatory pic-

She has to show me how well she can do the splits with all her gear on.

    That's great!

And the pic is too cute! Reminds me of when I was just a wee goalie....*sigh*

Congrats! Good choice with the Vaughn 7100 trapper by the way. My boy was having trouble closing some of the other trappers until we found the 7100.

Yeah absolutely awesome! Now please remember, be supportive, don't coach her, that's the coaches job. Just always tell her she's doing a great job, don't tell her what she's doing wrong that's not your job as a parent. Let the coaches coach, and the parents praise.

My family is new to the Calgary area this year. Where did you take your daughter for lessons?
My boy made rep out of Cochrane this season, he has a great coching staff and fantastic parents.
BUT like most teams there is no goalie coaching. It's amazing to watch kids progress!
