The kid may be great. He's good now as a rookie, but like I always say, we'll wait to see how he does next year.
I dont know how he gets it done. I agree w/ Matt. He doesnt look all that strong but he gets it done. His best asset is that nothing seems to bother him. He's 25 so he's not a kid; probably helps his mental approach to the game.
I thought he was 27.
Am I the only that thinks Niemi's pads are like Redwood trees. They look huge
You might be right, Arth; I may be mistaken.
His pillows sure are tall, aint they, ER?
He's 26. For a pro starting goalie, and one to win the cup, that's really young.
Now, I'm a Chicago guy, but I'll tell ya. Before the playoffs, I really didn't hold too much stock into him. He's a very erratic goalie (not to criticize a pro, and I'm just some lowly amateur), he plays with an aggressiveness that is scary. His puck playing ability is sub standard. But, as time went on, Huet kept pooping the bed, and I got to see more of Niemi. I can say, that now, I think he knows exactly what he's doing, in regards to his funny play style. I have never seen legs so fast on any goalie. I don't know, I think that he will get better with age, like most goalies do.
I really hate his head bob.

this is going to be difficult. arbitrator awarded him a one year deal worth $2.7 mil according to the newspaper. now the Hosers have almost $8 mil in goalers. wouldnt be a shock that they end up w/ an entirely new pair in net.
