Shame I get this about 3 months after everyone else :( , love being a goalie in the be a pro mode , shame you cant get a team mask or build your own but hey now we are live I see a game where people will crash the goalie all the time for a goal.... except ea sports has already announced that doing so will earn you an interferance call
Hockey video games haven't been good since like NHL 98 with the Forsberg cover. Since then they're just a cluster**** of awkward controls, unrealistic graphics and gameplay, and ridiculousness like taking 50 shots on goal and scoring 1 goal while the other team takes 7 shots on goal and scores 4.
Bitter much, not so hot a the video games anymore syn??That's now how it plays out for me. 2-1 games of around 28 - 21 shots is an average game. they're getting better and better each release.

Crazy. I walk easily around defensemen, putting up 40-50 shots and maybe scoring one per game. Drives me nuts.
With exception of The Show 2010, I've largely stepped out of sports video games. Just too unrealistic for me. Or too complicated, like NCAA Football 11. I'm much more of the Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Battlefield, MAG, Portal 2, Assassin's Creed kind of player. Oh, and Flower.. which is an oddly addictive and very sleepy game.
Generally i alternate between NHL one year and Madden the next. I follow junior hockey quite a bit so the CHL in NHL 11 was outstanding for me. I'll probably get NHL 13 when it arrives. I find the gameplay fairly realistic, there are sliders which you can adjust to make it more or less of what you want.

This should be a patch.
They'll probably still forget to change team's scoreboards to match what they've had for the past few years (i.e. Montreal's). And proper presentation, with 4 officials (NHL doesn't only have 1), proper entrances (not all arenas have lockerooms attached to the team benches), etc.
If they made it a patch, they wouldn't make that money. I agree with you though.
