    my thoughts on the goalie moves;
    Giguere to colorado; as a leaf fan I have mixed thoughts. He's damaged goods and will likely never start again. But still a quality locker room guy. Should be a good mentor for Varlamov.
    Varlamov to Colorado; Pretty big price tag with a 1st and conditional 2nd. I'm not high on this guy, he's athletic but his technique is poor and seems to have a weak work ethic. With his injuries, Giguere may be needed quite a bit.
    Auld to Ottawa: he's already played there so i'm assuming he's a popular guy. Anderson is a solid starter so Auld should get them through the nights Anderson needs a night off. Seems Robin Lehner will get more development in the minors which is good for him
    Budaj to Montreal: probably an upgrade over Auld. If Carey price plays the way he did last year, Budaj should have no trouble with 15 or so starts plus mop up minutes.
    Boucher to Carolina; seems the Justin Peters experiment has ended. Boucher was overused in Philadelphia. Cam Ward is a solid starter so Bouch will be a decent fill in there.
    Mathieu Garon to Tampa Bay: Rolly and Garon form another tandem. Garon can step up to be a 1B guy, he had to in Columbus with Mason faltering earlier in the year, he may have to in Tampa as well with Rolly getting up there. 2012-13 may be interesting if Rolly retires as Tokarski may be ready.
    Theodore to Florida: looks like the only thing guaranteed at this point is Theodore will be ahead of Clemmenson in Florida. Markstrom is the wildcard being the goalie of the future, his play will likely dictate where he sits on the depth chart. Theodore and Clemmenson may be a sub par tandem mind you Theo had a good year in minnesota and was treated badly by the Caps 2-3 years ago so he does have something to show.

    As a Ryan miller fan, and a sabres fan by default, I really like what they have done. Even in backing off of the Richards signing. I think they realized that he may have pressed the cap a bit too much for them for years to come. Leino, to me, is a bit of a wildcard and I hope he is what they think he is.

    Colorado with Varl seems like a good move. Kind of a win win, if he and Gig can excel for the avs or if he and gig fail there, they get another high draft pick for their rebuilding team.

    Columbus appears to be making great moves also.

    Philly seems odd to me. They had a great team with goalie issues. They did what they could to solve those and then they shipped out some good players and signed jagr...40 year old jagr for 3.3mil

    Good for the Bruins resigning Khudobin. He's a solid AHL goalie and hasn't exactly not proven himself in the NHL..Which gives him a leg up on goalies they could have gotten like Auld or MacDonald..

    Not really sure why he hasn't been given a fair chance at the NHL (besides having Thomas and Rask in front of him). The guy has a .951 save percentage in his six NHL appearances, plus pretty impressive stats at the AHL level.

    In other news Vokoun goes to Washington for $1.5m for 1 year. INCREDIBLE. Everyone thought he'd sign for big money for a 2-3 year contract, and instead teams went to the cheap route signing guys like Theodore and Smith for less money and less years.

    I'm so bummed that Simeon Varlamov was traded to Colorado. Waste of a sweet goalie and he is one of my favorites

    I'm happy goalie has been trouble since we lost Roy. Better options than budaj and Elliot IMHO.

    I can't believe how much talent philly gave up for mr. I'm going to retire after I realize that the NHL isn't the KHL and the flkaey playoff yote of a goalie.

    Well Giguere will no doubt help and so will Varlamov but just because there are better goalies doesnt mean Colorado will be cup winners next year. If it did happen I would mess myself but with Colorado being up top in the draft and with free agency they need a lot of new skill

    I'm not looking for a cup this early, just looking for more consistency in goaltending. The turnover here has been high, maybe not as high as other places but still high considering we had Roy for all those years. We made the playoffs two years ago with anderson standing on his head, so thats where I'm hoping for is a return to playoffs.
