We signed up our son (who just turned 4 on Friday) for an Intro to Hockey session at the Ottawa Senators practice facility (the Bell Sensplex). He's been wanting to play hockey for at least 2 years, and though biased, I think he has some natural talent on blades. Plus, he wants to be a goalie. :)
So, we made some vids, and I thought I'd share. He's the one in the black Senators jersey with 07 on the back (his birth year).
It took him some time to get comfortable, but it didn't help that we discovered he was missing one glove 5 minutes before it started. D'Oh! Whenever we go public skating, people always stop and ask us how old he is, because he skates better than some kids 1-2 years older, and he's small like me so people think he's really young.
"I am the game, you don't want to play me. I am control, no way you can shake me. I am your debt, no way you can pay me. I am your pain and I know you can't take me." - The Game, Motorhead.
Good for him! He does skate pretty well compared to other 3-5 year olds I've seen. I bet he gets better than me. Lol
