Mine's pretty logical. Last name is "Chu", and so "Chuchu" was a nickname given to me when I was young. 33 for Patrick Roy, and there you have it!

Hey guys,
I was just looking at some of your user names and it got me thinking as to 'why' and 'whats behind it'
For me its easy, I came to Canada and was pretty much instantly given the name Scotty or Haggis which I changed slightly to just Scottish, but either is fine with me haha

Hey!
LadyHatTrick was my Twitter name, which was handed to me by a follower when my name was ZetaSportsFan (a mumble-jumble of things). It had a nice ring to it and it was hockey-related, so I stick with it. Now people call me that like it's my name.
*I could've made it "Choppa" or "Terrier" -- the names my buddy's on my teams gave me. Choppa is pretty obvious
. Terrier is because I'm 4'11'' but played like I was 6'2'' in games with boys.
Mine is pretty simple too. A few years ago I played with a weekly 3on3 mini-rink group in my hometown. They gave me the nickname Big Red, and it stuck. Even my buddies out here in CO that I don't play hockey with call me Big Red. If you look at any of the pictures I have posted the name makes lots of sense; I'm a big dude, with really long arms, and I wear red gear.
Archer is my simply my last name and BTP just stands for Between The Pipes which is part of my twitter name.
I have a last name that constantly gets butchered. Werhun. Should be simple right? Wrong ive had wermul, workington, wepburn, worhoon it goes on and on. In my younger days i worked at a window factory. I primative environment with primate people. Everyone had a nickname. At the time i worked at the gate checking loads, writing down plate #'s, lots of time with nothing to do. One day someone came up with Werknone. I loved it, so decided to keep it. It was a whole lot better than any of the other nicknames or mis-spellings i had gotten.
Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you could not wake up from that dream, how would you tell the difference between the real world and the dream?
I chose "synesthete" since I have synesthesia, which is an interesting "condition" where my senses get a bit mixed up and I can perceive things using multiple sense. For example, I not only hear sounds, but I also see sounds. I can literally "watch" music, as it has colors, shapes, and sometimes movements. I have several types of synesthesia, too, and in addition to seeing sound, numbers have "body types," and I don't see time or dates linearly like most people. I see time as sort of a long stretch of highway, while I see dates in a sort of "broken clock" fashion. I actually wrote about it on my blog. Some other synesthetes can taste shapes/colors, smell numbers, and all sorts of other weird things.
Mine was given to me when I had just started being a goalie, I was little, a bit thick and I had blond hair. My coach said I remined him of a gold nugget. So nugget stuck and 30 is my number in America. Here in Germany my number is 2 and I hate it!
Polish Goalie.....well it really is Smith in Polish, last name Olszewski.....have a Colonel here who's family actually changed it to the phonetic Olshefski......too easy. As for Mispronunciations....yeah, a ton....man, when I was in the Army it was Ski, very original....or last 4 of my ssn...course first name lends itself to great goalie nickname too....Wally (yep the Wall!) whohoooo
