Default Things you regret doing before a game

So yesterday before a pickup session, I decided to have a lasagna cassaroll and mocha latte an hour before gametime. Usually I try to eat lighter and only drink water before a game, but I wanted to indulge a little that day. Now usually the longer the pickup game goes, the better I get. But my game started to deteriorate around the 20 minute mark, getting worse and worse due to an upset tummy. I was letting in some really stupid goals and my 5-hole was open to practically everything. Ugh. A few noticed I was not playing to my usual standard too. Towards the end I was doing a little better, but I felt like crap for most of it. #LFMF :)

I hate not going to bathroom before I play, because sure enough as soon as I step on the ice I have to go lol

I also drank a 1 litre choc milk between games, that was so very not smart! hahahahah Could quite easily of been playing in choco covered gear

Going and having a few pints with the guys from the team before a game. Wasn't intoxicated by any means...but burping beer for an entire game kinda sucked. Plus, throwing down a few pints put me in "relax" mode, not STOP THE PUCK mode. Not good. Beer before game=bad. Beer post game=awesome.

    Tebowing...

It works for Jesus boy, but apparently not for me. I've done it twice with disastrous "4th quarter" moments. In a playoff game I did it before the game and the game got tied with 1 second left. Then in OT they won a minute in.

Yesterday we were down one goal with a period left to play and someone on the bench made a joke that we're gonna pull a Tebow and make the comeback. So I got down on one knee, tebowed, then we gave up 5 goals and lost...

So yeah, tebowing is evil and has the opposite effect.

I have endoenspholigitis, which basically means I'm allergic to a lot of things that make ridges in my throat and make it hard to swallow, and can give you a serious upset stomach. So eating anything 2hrs before game is not done. Anytime I do I end up not feeling well. Water or liquids only, milk helps cause its heavy but water only 1 hr before.

Stretching too much. I always feel like crap out there if I do any extended stretching routines.

6 chili dogs for lunch... 7 hours before a game, but still, not good.

Definitely, not going to the bathroom just before the game. (Bath room - underarmor - gear)
I get a bit of a nervous stomach... must not eat too much greasy food or Gobstoppers (Mini jawbreakers).

Agreeing to run my son over to a friends house and put myself at the rink alot later than I like.

I grew up in a town a few hours from STL (Bru and Syn may have heard of it. Paducah, KY). When I was 24 or so we came to STL for a NARCH tourney. My sister has lived in St. Charles for as long as I can remember, but I had gone up north for around 6 years. I can't remember where we played our first 3 games on Saturday, but in between games 1 and 2 we had a 3 hour break. There was a bar and pizza joint in the place, kind of like All American in South County. So I go up there and grab a few pints and there version of St. Louis style pizza. It was super delicious and super greasy, thing had so much provel cheese on it, it was like munching on thin lasagna. Needless to say I spent the next game burping Bud heavy and this pizza flavor all through the next game. It was horrible, I played like garbage.
