    Default Canada-USA Feb 21st.

Hockey may be Canada's game, but tonight Ryan Miller showed that Goaltending is purely American. Absolutely brilliant play allowed the US to pass Canada getting a bi in the qualifier round by beating Team Canada 5-3 in a Miracle on ice-esque game where Canada out-muscled the USA in every aspect of the game except one, goals. The line by the color commentator said it all; "Sidney Crosby, the only thing Canada can put in the net."

    Any thoughts?

We are not doing so well! Great game though, well deserved victory for those pesky Southerns!

Miller was on fire and kept the US in the game tonight, grats to the US on the go ahead for the auto qualifier.

Canada has to beat Germany then face the Russians, think Luongo will get the start or stay with Broduer?

I reckon Luo will get a call up for the Russians, but I may even think Fleury or Brod will go for the Germany game!

Ride Lou the rest of the way, and remind Brodeur there's a reason why the majority of goaltenders are playing butterfly style. First two US goals? Absolutely pathetic attempts by Brodeur. Even the first one that was tipped. Butterfly, and he probably would've had it.

Miller deserved that win, the guy played exceptional out there.
Some people just deserve a high five... to the face.

Marty Brodeur didnt play very well tonight but he's still one of my favorite goaltender and in my humble opinion the best goalie of all time. I think you have to stay with him. Miller played very well and it was a well deserved victory.

Did you see one of miller's last saves, laying flat on his stomach lifted his glove and caught the the puck...simply amazing. The last five minutes of the game were simply amazing by both teams. Awesome just awesome.

Miller is having a great season and a great Olympics. He's facing a lot of shots and stopping most of them. Goaltending definitely was the difference in this game. I don't understand it though. I called Babcock before the game and specifically told him to play Luongo in this one.

I charted the game and Miller only made one save that wasn't shot right at him. Meaning, he only extended a limb once to make a save and that was save number 24 which was shot from 20 feet inside the blueline on the right side. The defense played well keeping Canada to the outside most of the night. Miller did his job but wasn't outstanding. It's routine to stop pucks shot right at you.

There were only 8 shots in the prime scoring area or diamond and of those 8, only 3 were hard shots and one went in and the other two hit him in the chest.

    Routine.
