Throughout the city, the 2012-13 Winter season has kicked off by now in each of the adult recreational leagues, and unfortunately, I'm still without a team. At this point, it's looking like the best I can hope for is emergency fill-ins, and the occassional pick up game when I get called for that.
I had a couple of replies to an online ad that I had posted earlier this summer, but after a few emails were exchanged, I heard nothing more. Last week, I actually received a reply from a
Well, after three games playing for a new team in a new league, my summer season has suddenly come to an end. I was cut loose last night after a phone call from the guy who had organized the team to notify me that the team was opting to go with someone a little more experienced.

As some of you may or may not know, I wound up pulling the trigger last weekend on a shiny new pair of Bauer One80 skates to replace my aging CCM 452 Tacks. I really liked the feel of the skates in store, had the yellow SuperFeet insoles added for additional support, and had the skates baked to try and take advantage of the moldable boot.
My plan is to get them on the ice tomorrow night in my teams first of two guaranteed playoff games. Normally, I wouldn't make a change like that
