As many who read my blogs may be aware life for a Australian Goalie isn't easy at all. Having being recently drafted by the West Coast Lightning in their Senior A - Non Checking team I recently attended pre season training with the hope that someone there would help guide me ...... Nope wrong on that one . Coach only wants me to stay in net while the rest of the team take shots and do drills ... all I have to do is provide a target. So finally after the summer break the Western Australian Ice Hockey League season is about to start . Last Thursday was the first pre-season training for the club I will be playing for this year. Due to missing 6 weeks with a knee injury ( Dislocated during a pickup game .. Managed to save the shot tho ) I missed out on the pre draft trials .. Thats right for some reason every club has pre draft trials to see who is going to get drafted to what team ..

So while the seasons start kicking in up in the Northern Hemisphere down here in the lower part of the world we have no hit off season . While im still playing the occasional game on a Friday night the league itself has ground to a shuddering halt until February next year so its now time for offseason training and replacement of required gear .

Even though I have only been between the pipes for about 2 or so months already the frustration has set in. Being so far away from ANY Goalie coaches I have been relying on videos and youtube to help me work out my problems and issue none of which has really helped and this has started to effect me mentally when I play. I do know I have some issues with not keeping my stick on the ground as well as when going into B-Fly i lift my right side pad off the ground at the knee. I woould love to upgrade
