USHL Goalie Makes Save with Bare Hand

I know it's not an NHL game, but a pretty crazy situation nonetheless. Goalie Stephon Williams of the Waterloo Black Hawks loses his catcher during the play, and before play is stopped, proceeds to make a "glove" stop with his bare hand! Just had to share...

That was crazy!! A couple years ago in the ajhl olds grizzly goaltender made a bare hand save too

i have done it with my blocker missing... hurt like a bastard and i told myself i wouldnt do it again... but i have. about 3 total over my 20ish years. my hand was barely functional after each save too. its not smart but sometimes its hard not to do it... instinct i guess.

That's crazy. But then again, so are goalies in general. Closest I've come is dropping my stick and saving it with the palm of my blocker... which, on a RBK 6K, essentially is stopping it with your bare hand. And granted, this was only against AA girls.

I once had my blocker come off. The puck went out to the point. As the guy wound up, I put my hand behind my back to make sure my instinct didn't cause me to use my hand to stop the shot. Made a good pad stop with one arm tied behind my back!

The best part is when he skates around putting his glove back on after. You can see the attitude in his actions.. "Yep, I don't even need my glove to make a glove save!"

I did that, only end result was not so good, i used back of my hand on a slapper from the blue line.... not rrrrreally advisabe lol

Full credit to this guy though as I know a lot of us would prob not of been able to make that save bare handed

Ouch, that would hurt. Lol, I drop my stick a lot(very loose grip), and it's a wonder this hasn't happened to me, street hockey or ice hockey!

It looks like he looses his trapper as he is making the save. But holy crap, that had to sting!
