Kevin Smith to Make Hockey Movie "Hit Somebody"

Here is an article that touches on a potentially interesting movie based on hockey. It's based on the Warren Zevon song, "Hit Somebody." It probably won't surpass Slapshot, but hopefully it will be better than Slapshot 2.

gonna have to see that one... Kevin Smith is awesome - and he is the only one I can think of that could do a movie like this justice... just due to his hockey appreciation and passion....

I didn't know he was such a huge fan of hockey until I was watching him on TV get interviewed by some Canadian about Cop Out. Apparently, he REALLY loves the sport. Should be a good movie, or at least one worth seeing.

At imdb.com it lists a release date of 2012, so it's a ways away. In July he was still writing it.

Original Slap Shot was great, and so too was Youngblood, so if its anything like those 2 then it will be good

I watched Slapshot for the first time last night. I laughed and laughed. I had to overlook the 70s-ness of it (not a fan of movies of the 70s except for Star Wars), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And now I know who the Hanson brothers are when I hear references.

And now this photo of Theo makes sense to me...
