Default Wild goalie Harding leaves after collision

Minnesota goalie Josh Harding was carried off the ice after a collision midway through the first period in the Wild's preseason game against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.

Harding, playing for the first time since surgery to repair a partially torn hip labrum, was bowled over by Blues forward Brad Boyes, who had been checked into Harding by Wild defenseman Greg Zanon. Harding went over on his back, threw off his glove and blocker and began motioning toward his hip. He was down on his back for several minutes before being carried off by teammates.

Harding, the backup to starter Niklas Backstrom, partially tore the hip labrum in training camp last season. He played through the injury for much of last season, appearing in 25 games and finishing with a 9-12-0 record and 3.05 goals-against average.

That doesn't mean those 12 games don't count. Borderline playoff teams need all the wins they can get. And what if, God forbid, something happens to Backstrom? Some people really underestimate the important of a solid back-up

Theo's name is being thrown around a lot in reference to Minnesota. And now and then Toskala too. I guess they need to decide if they want to depend on the young kid as a back-up or a more experienced goalie. I'd say it will depend on money. I'm rooting for Theo, obviously, but I guess we'll see.

Toskala signed in another country. I believe it was Switzerland. I have no idea how these kind of rumors come up. I guess people just assume and call it a rumor. I don't think the Wild will spend Turco money on a back-up unless they can get Theo for cheaper which I don't think will happen. I think Theo will sign with a team who's starter is injured. But back to Harding, I wonder if this will affect him after the injury
