That's definitely true that no one will bother you for wearing another jersey. Back when Colorado was good I'd routinely wear my Roy jersey to Blues-Avs games, and no one ever said a word except, "Why's there a foot on that jersey?" Haha..

Chris Osgood has officially retired. That leaves an open spot with the Detroit Red Wings.

Conklin was signed to a 1-year contract already. No open spot with the Wings. Sorry to any of you who might have been vying for the spot in your dreams.
Emery is going to the Blackhawks camp on a tryout basis. I don't like Emery, but he'd make a nice pick up for the Hawks.
Free-agent goalies left as of August 9, 2011
Ray Emery Anaheim 7-2-0, 2.28 GAA
Pascal Leclaire Ottawa 4-7-1, 2.83 GAA
Marty Turco Chicago 11-11-3, 3.02 GAA
Martin Gerber Edmonton 3-0-0, 1.30 GAA
Any of them could play in any European pro league, but not everyone wants to go.

I'm really surprised Emery couldn't find an outright NHL backup job, and is instead going to try to earn his way on the Blackhawks over Salak. Leclaire is simply hurt too often.. hell, he even gets hurt while sitting on the bench. I can see him getting a two-way contract like Elliot did. Turco's gotta be done. He's terrible now, and now that the Sabres got rid of Lalime, there's no room for crappy goalies in the NHL. And Gerber should head right back overseas. He did well in his games, but never got the opportunity to prove he could take the reigns.
Wow, kick them while they are down.

All four still unsigned. I wonder if they'll just wait for 'the call' or play in Europe.
