Nothing shocks me after the stupidity and chaos in Vancouver last year...but THIS is pathetic and beyond stupid. I have words for this kind of crap but I'm pretty sure my post would get deleted or I'd get banned.![]()

I thought hockey fans were above this crap!

I don't condone what happened in Vancouver, but it's a little more understandable. I mean that was for the cup. This was just fans being jerks to other fans. I am really happy though that the Broadstreet Blog is denouncing the incident and trying to bring those fools to justice.
I dont get what the point of adding "he was a cop or war vet etc" I dont think it was relevant to what happened in this clip. This was an altercation between 2 sets of fans regardless of what their occupations are.
I hate this mindless violence and growing up in the UK believe me I have seen more acts of sports violance than I care to share....
Grow up people! if you want to fight go join a boxing club etc unless of course you can only fight 3 on 1 then just go coward in your basement!

Stupid!!! I should be able to go to a game or dinner or out for a drink without fear of being attacked because of my choice in sports attire.
I have attended many University of Michigan / Michigan State games proudly wearing my U of M jersey. I've been teased/chided for my jersey choice but all in good fun.
Hockey is a great sport! A game is just that a GAME!!! Get over it whether your team lost or won. I've had so many surprised looks when I thank the refs for a nice game after a loss, or congratulate the opposing team for a good game, or wish the parents of the visiting team safe travels home. This routine doesn't change - except if refs were really BAD / one sided.
Living in Lexington KY with the University of Kentucky in town, and going to a few of the UK/University of Louisville (pronounced "Loovul") basketball games I have an idea about what it would be like going to a UM/MS game. UK basketball fans can be downright mean and ugly, but I've never seen any one attacked like this. There's been a few fights at local bars after games, but drunken redneck brawls are different than what happened here.
There are alot of people who are not True Fans of what ever sports team attire they are donning and merely out there to cause trouble and start fights.
I also find that for the most part sporting chants in North America are alot more civalized than they are in UK/Europe.

Haha, I grew up in Paducah, KY rfleming and my town was horrible divided on the UK/UoL basketball. My mom is a raging UK basketball fan. When I was stationed at Ft. Knox me and my buddies would unknowingly got to Loovul (I hate when people say Looeyville or Louis Ville) for drinks and we would always see a scrum in the bars during those games. I'll never understand getting into a scrum over a team or game when you aren't friends/relative with a member of that club. That **** is just crazy and dumb.
This is ridiculous and i hope they catch those idiots. To me its a sign of the times though. It seems like there isnt a code anymnore and not only with sports fans, criminals as well. I live in Langley BC. I used to live in a part of the city called Wanut Grove. It is a small upscale community very quiet really no crime at all. Well in the last 2 years there has been 2 shootings. One was in front of the grocery store in broad daylight. The most recent one was about 3 blocks from where i lived. My Daughter walked past the house where a man was gunned down every day on her way to school. It just seems like no place is safe these days.
Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you could not wake up from that dream, how would you tell the difference between the real world and the dream?
I went to the winter classic in Pittsburgh last year as a capitals fan. The stands were setup in a manner so every section was integrated, there was no penguins seating and no capitals seating. It was mostly a very friendly environment and at no point did me or my family feel like we weren't safe. I didn't go to any bars around the area after the game drinking, however. That said, stories like this are very disappointing and just reaffirm the negative stereotype that a place like Philadelphia has.
