Any standouts? I've heard of Subban and seen some YouTube of him, and while he has great stats, he seems to slide way out of position often. Needs to temper down his aggressiveness a bit, in my opinion, which will come with more experience.

Andrei Vasilevski had a fantastic tournament at the World Juniors in helping Russia get to the gold medal game. Stood on his head against the Canadians in the semi-final -- at least for the first 50 minutes of the game. From the way some of the commentators were talking about him, he played his way into a first round selection at the draft.

I wouldn't bet on a Russian goalie to go first found. Maybe third round at most. And that's not because he isn't good or the game is a bit different, but rather because the KHL has rules in place to encourage the development of and keeping Russian goalies in their league. Might be harder to get him over here if someone's willing to give him a nice contract (especially higher than the ridiculously low ELC). I think we'll see more Russian goalies go undrafted and instead will be picked up in their early-to-mid 20s after they've matured some and after they would have to sign an ELC to play in the NHL.

I'd personally be surprised to see a Russian goalie go in the first roung as well, but stranger things have happened. A couple of years ago, Mark Visentin was slated to go late second to early third round, and Phoenix jumped on him in the middle of round one.

I know a lot of teams over the last couple of years have taken passes over Russian players because of the fact that they know it's going to be tougher without a transfer agreement in place and the KHL trying to lure them to stay with lucrative contracts.
