Hey All,
Here is a challange ( more so for myself so as I actually do these stretches) but feel free to post and keep track of how much progression you make with various excercises and stretches.
Post a beginning picture of your butterfly flare with a measurement and then keep tracking it weekly to see how much of an increase you are getting.
I am using Maria's stretching techniques and will post some images tonight to get us started off.
Cheers
I love this idea - - I want to help! What if I put together a 10-15 minute routine for widening the butterfly and then we see who gets the best success with it and I will even pony up a FREE copy of The Ultimate Goalie Training System as a prize. Post a comment below if you are into it and then I will put something together by early next week. I have to know that you are committed though so make sure you post a comment by Friday at noon or the deal is off!
Have a great day gang!
Cheers,
maria
I'm in. :) I don't really know how to measure my width though? We need to lay out some guidelines here.
I will send out an email to the entire board, lets see how many people we can get involved in this.
"Soccer players pretend they're hurt, Hockey players pretend they're not."
Yeah I am going to take a pict to show how I am measuring my flare. Its bascially on your knees flaring out your legs as far as you can go, with tape measure indicating the width. or the other is lying on your belly bring your legs up vertical behind you and then flare out, but this one would be hard to get a measurment included. I have time tonight so will post the picts
Hey M,
I am using your techniques that you gave me so if you post them to everyone then I wont have an advantage any longer! hahaha!! But yeah I am In, obviously since I started it I cant back out now! hahaha
I'd be interested in doing this. I'm a first year ice hockey goalie at 21 years of age, and mostly strictly ball hockey beyond that, but it still seems like it'd be fun.
Thats is an awesome idea. it'll be great to actually see peoples progress and it will benefit participants too. Does the pic have to be on ice?
not on Ice, just on the floor in the house, no pads, this will give a more accurate way of showing the progression.
Im 29 and just starting to take the game up so you got some years on me C_Block!
i'm in, do we gotta post the pics here each week with the tape measure showing the improvements?
